M.L. Newhard Assistant Professor and Chair Department of Classics College of Charleston Dr. Newhard received his
Ph.D. in Classical Studies from the Department of Classics at the University of Cincinnati.
He holds an MA in Classics from that same institution, and Bachelors Degrees
in Classical
Languages and Classical
Art and Archaeology from the University of Missouri - Columbia. |

Dr. Newhard's research interests include lithic
technology, ancient Mediterranean economies, the application of technology to
archaeology, and ancient and modern concepts of ethnicity. He has conducted
archaeological research in Albania, Greece, and the United States. He is currently the field director for
the Göksu
Archaeological Project and the Assistant Director for the Avkat Archaeological Project in Turkey. |
